A surprise entrance, a room full of tambourines

At Lartington Hall near Barnard Castle, Joanna and Josh booked Spencer as a surprise for their guests. Working alongside Ian Conway, he joined the party straight after the first dance, with three 30-minute sax sets across the evening. Personalised tambourines, glow-stick sax impressions and an emotional Local Hero finale made the music part of their story.

Another Lartington Hall celebration, for David and Kelsey, called for a different entrance. Playing with Ryan Boden of Impress Events, Spencer used the build of Coldplay’s A Sky Full of Stars to help invite guests into the first dance. House, R&B and Ibiza favourites followed. These are examples of sax alongside a separately booked DJ, and show how closely the performance can fit the couple and the room.

MEET SPENCER

Musicianship, with a personal touch.

Spencer has around 17 years of professional experience and performs at more than 100 weddings a year. He holds a first-class degree and a Master’s with Distinction in saxophone performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. His approach is to read the room: give guests a relaxed soundtrack when they want to talk, then invite them into the performance when it is time to celebrate.

Can the sax be a surprise for our guests?

Yes. Spencer can coordinate an entrance with your DJ and venue, including during the first dance or as the evening party begins. Agree the song, cue and timings beforehand so the surprise feels natural.

How do we check availability and the total price?

Send your wedding date, venue, preferred package and any timings you already know. Spencer will check availability and confirm the performance plan and any travel costs in your quote.
